Step back in time to 1945 as we mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day with a special 1940s-themed family weekend.

On Sunday & Monday

Join Aerospace Bristol for a street party celebration, with outdoor music, food stalls, dancing, games, face painting and more.

  • Take a seat outside and enjoy 1940s music and a delicious cream tea on Sunday or Monday or join us for the Bank Holiday Monday barbecue.

  • Be among the first to enter a real WWII air raid shelter in the new Filton Blitz Experience.

  • See the WWII Bolingbroke bomber restored by volunteers and rolled out of the Conservation Workshop for the first time.

  • Keep the kids entertained with 1940s-themed outdoor games and activities.

  • Discover remarkable stories from Bristol’s wartime past

 
 

Tickets for the Filton Blitz Experience will be available to buy at admissions, daily from Sunday 4th May.

Plus - on Sunday 4th May:

  • Hear Filton Concert Brass perform 1940s classics from 10.30am to 1.30pm

And on Monday 5th May:

  • Take part in a fun and energetic Lindy Hop dance class. No experience needed!

  • See if you can find Winston Churchill and take a selfie

  • Dress to impress in your best 1940s attire, with prizes for the best outfits!

  • Enjoy children’s face painting.

Spirit of ‘45 is included with museum admission*. Existing ticket holders can visit for free, as Aerospace Bristol tickets include free returns for 12 months!
